We spoke with our Head of Horticulture, Sam to gain an insight into the details regarding what we plan to grow at our cultivation site in Zimbabwe…
In our facilities, we will have a range of cannabis that will differ in the types and ratios of the two main ingredients, these are terpenoids and cannabinoids. We will house a genetic pool of over 1000 varieties of cannabis, proprietary developments with varying ratios of cannabinoids and terpenoids. These will be more accurately described as genetics with brand names for their customers to recognise them by:
We also have an active breeding program in place to create proprietary genetic variants of cannabis that will be exclusive to Eco Equity and its patients/consumers.
Terpenoids (or Terpenes)
Terpenoids are a large and diverse class of organic compounds, produced by a variety of plants, particularly conifers, and also by some insects! They often have a strong odour and may act as a deterrent to herbivores and parasites.
Cannabinoids are compounds found in cannabis. The most notable cannabinoid is the phytocannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis with many medicinal applications for pharmaceutical science. Cannabidiol is another major constituent of the plant.
At Eco Equity, we pride ourselves in having the technical capability to produce highly effective medicinal cannabis, as one member of our team leading the cultivation program, Sam’s expertise and passion for the plant and its endless benefits and uses play an important role in our success. We can’t wait to release more exciting insights about our project, stay tuned for further updates.
